Batasia loop

Batasia loop Darjeeling has uneven land, after all it is a hilly area. The "Batasia Loop" is basically a spiral created to minimise the elevation changes of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railways. This loop, which was commissioned in 1919, is located about 5 km from Ghum. This place also serves as a memorial to the Gorkha soldiers of the Indian Army.
