Diskit is located about 150 km from Ladakh's late spring capital Leh

Diskit is located about 150 km from Ladakh's late spring capital Leh. Situated on the banks of the Shyok River, the valley is rich with streams and rivers. The greenery is bound to the banks of the river and what is left of Diskit is a frosty wasteland known for its sand ridges. Many products such as cereals, wheat, peas, almonds, apricots and numerous vegetables and natural products are grown here.

Diskit is a good place for a stopover. It is the largest town in the Nubra Valley. In Diskit there are many very well maintained accommodation and guest houses. There are daily taxi services to Leh, but they only run once a day. The town is laid out around a single-lane main market. There are a few places to eat in Diskit. Transport to the surrounding area and taxis to Hunder and Turtuk are also available here.

However, they leave at an early hour in the day. Travel agencies offer outdoor offices around the charming green valley, which stands out unmistakably against the lonely mountains and sand ridges that surround it. The excellence here is characterised by the differentiated scenes.
