Baisaran Hills

The Baisaran Hills are known worldwide as the "Little Switzerland", due to the long, blunt hills that resemble those of Switzerland. Baisaran is a beautiful valley located just 5 km from Pahalgam. The dense pine forests that give the valley its green look give a different hue to the snow-capped peaks of the surrounding mountains. Being one of the best places in Pahalgam, a trek to this meadow is a real treat for the mind. Besides, Baisaran is an ideal campsite for trekkers who want to fly further to Tulian Lake. To get there, you need to ride the horses. This remote trail gives you the opportunity to experience the Lidder Valley in all its facets.

Mamal Temple

The Mamal Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a historical treasure located in the enchanting area of Pahalgam. The historical shrine is located on the top of a mountain that lies on the banks of the glacial river Kolahoi. During the reign of a previous king, the sacred complex was put on the hook. At that time, the shrine was basically adorned with gold. According to nearby legends, this blessed site was guarded by Lord Ganesha, who was appointed gatekeeper to prevent outsiders from entering. This is how the temple got its name, which is composed of the words 'mamal', meaning 'no more passing'.
