The Shrubbery Nightingale Park in Darjeeling is a beautiful public place

 Shrubbery Nightingale Park

The Shrubbery Nightingale Park in Darjeeling is a beautiful public place where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the park from the Mall, one of Darjeeling's main destinations. Walking through the park, you can see breathtaking pine trees on one side, while on the other side you have a view of the beautiful snow-capped mountains.  When the British ruled India, the park became the private courtyard of Sir Thomas Tartan's bungalow. In 1934, when it was completely destroyed by an earthquake, it was reopened to the public. After the park was redesigned, the paths around it intersected with all the others in the park. It looks beautiful at first sight.

There are seating areas across the park near the boundary wall.  The benches are all shaded with a bonnet so that people can sit there easily in extreme heat as well as in rain. The umbrellas are in different shades, which adds to the beauty of the surroundings. In the middle of the park there is a circular stage that is used for cultural events. People stand around the stage to watch the programmes.
